A Light Fellowship pays for ALL expenses related to intensive language study in East Asia. Light Fellows may study during the summer or during the academic year. Those studying during the year can take a Leave of Absence or do Term/Year Abroad while paying no Yale tuition, regardless of if they are studying for Yale credit. All Light sites are pre-approved for credit. Far from being "time off," Fellows' fulfilling experiences overseas routinely lead to exciting research, senior theses, and career paths. Ready to apply?
