Requirements
Prospective
students are expected to provide evidence of strong interest in the fields
of International Economics and Development Economics. Yale fellowship funds
are not available. Also, the program requires full-time enrollment at Yale. There are no part-time
students in the program. Candidates should have had previous training in economics equivalent to an
undergraduate major in economics, or a background in quantitative methods.
Students entering the program are expected to have adequate preparation in
mathematics and economic analysis. Some students will be required to
complete summer courses in mathematics
and English prior to beginning the program. To earn the Masters degree,
students must satisfactorily complete a program of eight graduate courses.
The five required and three elective courses are expected to be completed in
one year of study.
