The Yale Latino Networking Group is excited about its recent efforts to build a Latino community of staff at Yale. The upcoming celebration of Latino heritage on May 7 is the continuation of an effort that began in 2006 to build community among Latinos at Yale. Six Latino staff members representing different departments at Yale were brought together then and presented with the opportunity to establish a community among Yale’s Latino employees. Their ideas to energize and empower the group to become a vital organization at Yale are poised to become a reality with the help of the many Latino/a colleagues they would like to join with to:
- Develop a support network for Latino/Latina staff at all levels.
- Provide access to programs that enhance the skills development, job information, mentoring, and employment opportunities for staff
- Assist Yale with the recruitment of Latino/Latina staff
- Promote diversity education on Latino/Latina issues
- To sponsor at least 3 cultural events annually.
The Yale Latino Networking Group hopes that you will join them in their efforts, and assist them in identifying common interests and refining their goals.
