Free Furniture, Office Supplies and Refreshments Available from Yale Recycling on Friday October 12th

Join Yale Recycling on Friday October 12th from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm for fun, refreshments and a tour of its surplus facility. 

Attendees will "shop" for free furniture and office supplies while enjoying refreshments provided by Yale Catering and the Sustainable Food Project and learning about the program.  Yale Recycling offers to Yale departments and New Haven charities items it receives from campus.   Typical items include desks, chairs, filing cabinets, office supplies, mailing supplies.   Other items frequently available include crutches, hangers, toys and student dorm furnishings. 

A bio-diesel shuttle bus will make a circuit of the campus to pick up registered attendees.   Stops will include Sterling Hall of Medicine (333 Cedar), Phelps Gate (344 College) and the Whitney Avenue Shuttle Bus stop (corner of Whitney and Humphrey) just inside the parking Science area parking lot.  The schedule will be posted on the Yale Recycling web site ( and sent to registered attendees.

To register simply e-mail with your contact information.   Yale Recycling's SWAP program for surplus furniture and supplies runs year-round.  This event is intended to introduce the program to administrators so that they may take advantage of it at any time.
