May 14th will bring us many changes affecting every aspect of mailings and postage. The US Postal Service is raising rates for first class mail from 39 cents to 41 cents. All other rates will be going up as well. "Shape Based Pricing" for postage will change how you calculate rates. This is not a standard rate change; the new rates will be based on the weight, dimensions and thickness of each mail piece.
Postal representatives will be with us for one morning to offer a training seminar for Yale employees. Who should attend? Anyone that must send large mailings or packages and must deal with postage rates and calculations. If this is you or someone in your department, be sure to attend this seminar. Sign up while there is still room!
Don't wait until the last minute! Make sure you are ready for all of the changes!
