Baltimore Airport (BWI) is 25-40 minutes from downtown Washington, DC. The MARC train from the BWI airport to Union Station in Washington costs approximately $6 each way. Amtrak service is also available for $16 for the regional train (which takes 29 minutes). MARC tickets may be purchased at the station, or on board the train for an additional $3 fee (on board purchases must be made in cash)
