Campus Mail Tips: Correct Addressing Speeds Mail Delivery
"BUT THAT IS MY OFFICE ADDRESS!" The address you report to each day may be your PHYSICAL location, but that doesn't mean it is your MAIL DELIVERY address. In order to avoid delays in delivery of your US mail, be sure to use your post office box number on all US mail. Street addresses may cause your mail to be delayed, misdelivered or even returned to sender.
All US mail addresses require:
PO BOX _ _ _ _ _ _
NEW HAVEN, CT 06520- _ _ _ _
TAC BUILDING ADDRESSES. No U.S or campus mail is delivered to the TAC building (The Alain Center at 300 Congress). All mail is delivered to the home departments, which forward the mail to TAC occupants. "TAC" or "300 Congress" should not be used as part of the addresses.
CAMPUS ENVELOPES. Use only official Yale Inter-Departmental envelopes. These envelopes require the correct information for prompt delivery of your mail, and they are less expensive. Order them only through the Central Stockroom by faxing a Stock Request to 4-9312.
