Improving Service to Yale's International Students

Graduate housing staff and other front-line staff who provide direct services to students and their families took part in a training program last summer to enhance understanding of what it's like to be an international student arriving on campus. This month, as follow up, focus groups of students--undergraduates, graduates and post-docs--are being interviewed so that they can share their experiences. Video from these interviews will be used for follow-up training for front-line staff, so they can develop strategies for ensuring excellent customer service and gain a sense of what it's like to be the new person in a complex environment.
