At the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, we believe that
the ecological health and integrity of urban ecosystems has a profound
impact on urban economic productivity and quality of life. Urban neighborhoods
and communities that are environmentally attractive, accessible, and
ecologically functioning tend to foster positive environmental values
and varying social and economic benefits. Conversely, urban settlements
and communities afflicted with widespread environmental degradation often
reveal fragmented human relationships, lower quality of life, and diminished
income and social stability. The School offers several courses to address
these issues.
