I did my BA in history at McGill University in Montréal, Canada, and I came to Yale to study modern Latin American history with a focus on Central America.  I did orals fields in modern Latin American history, colonial Latin American history, and 20th-century dictatorship and authoritarianism.

My in-progress dissertation is currently titled "Of Terror, Power, and the Archive: Discovering Guatemala's National Police Records."

My committee is made up of Gil Joseph, Michael Denning, Carlota McAllister (York), Greg Grandin (NYU), and Stuart Schwartz.
