brian.jordan@yale.edu

Brian Jordan is a first year student studying nineteenth century United States History. His research focuses on the Civil War and Reconstruction and largely engages problems in the cultural memory of the Civil War. His essay, "We Stand on The Same Battlefield: The Gettysburg Centenary and the Shadow of Race" will appear in an upcoming issue of the Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography. Brian's current project is a cultural history of dismembered Union veterans.

Originally from northeastern Ohio, his passion for history began at the age of four, when his grandmother purchased a set of presidential rummy cards for him.

He received his B.A. in History with a minor in Civil War Era Studies (summa cum laude, valedictorian) from Pennsylvania's Gettysburg College in 2009.
