Currently in my second year, I study twentieth-century U.S. history. Broadly intrigued by popular conceptions of gender and sexuality, I’m particularly interested in the formation of lesbian identities. I’ve previously dallied in the messy trajectory between postwar lesbian pulp paperbacks and the so-called “sex wars” of the 1980s; however, for my dissertation, I’ll be leaping back to questions surrounding female same-sex desire in the interwar years, when medical (sexological) expertise, sexual bohemianism, and romantic friendship collided.

Originally from Ontario, I have an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and History from Concordia University to show for five delightful years in Montreal.
