John Mangan

John Mangan, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, holds degrees in music from the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Yale School of Music and received his Ph.D. in History and Education from Columbia University in 2005. At Yale, he served previously as the dean of Jonathan Edwards College. His research focuses on the history of music study in higher education, and he teaches a course on the history of primary and secondary education in the U.S. His articles have been published in Notes: Journal of the Music Library Association, American Arts Quarterly, and the Encyclopedia of Children and Childhood: In History and Society.
