Welcome to Yale University's Hindu Community!
The Yale Hindu Students Council is a group of students at Yale University that aims to bring Hindu culture and traditions to campus and to develop awareness of Hinduism within the Yale and New Haven community. We organize the annual Yale Diwali Pooja and a variety of other cultural events throughout the course of the year. We also hold weekly discussion seminars that, like all our events, are open to all, meant to promote an exchange of ideas on religion, and are above all educational.

5th Annual Yale Diwali Pooja
Join us for a prayer and dinner to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights! The pooja (prayer) will consist of meditation/prayer and singing of Hindu hymns and should last about an hour. All are invited to attend!
- Monday, October 19, 2009, 7:30 pm, Yale President's Room (Woolsey Hall, 2nd floor)
- Facebook Event
- See photos and videos from the pooja!
Weekly Meetings
The weekly HSC prayer/discussion meetings, while having a prayer component, are themed and address issues pertaining to Hinduism. The purpose of these seminars is primarily educational, and they are open to the public. We wish to provide a forum for cultural and religious exchange and lively debate on the role of the Hindu religion in our lives.
Other Events
Besides the annual Yale Diwali Pooja in the fall, HSC holds several other events throughout the year, including a Holi celebration in the spring, Spring Semester Kickoff Banquet, temple trips, and more.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, let us know, and we'll definitely work on them!
