Transcripts

A student who accepts an offer of admission to the Graduate School must provide official documentation that he or she has received a bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or its foreign equivalent prior to registering in the Graduate School. If you requested that transcripts be forwarded to the Graduate School in support of your application, but prior to the award of the bachelor’s degree, you must request that a new official transcript be sent that indicates the award of the bachelor’s degree.

In order to prepare your academic file for transfer to the Registrar and subsequent enrollment at the Graduate School, the Office of Graduate Admissions must receive final, official transcripts bearing the institution’s seal for each institution of higher learning you have attended prior to your enrollment at Yale. Applicants who have attended international institutions must submit transcripts or certified attestations of study, with certified, literal and complete English translations. International students should note that the failure to provide such documentation will result in the inability to register for the term and therefore jeopardize the status of their visas.

Please submit the appropriate credentials to the following address by July 15:

Graduate School Office of Admissions
Yale University
PO Box 208323
New Haven, CT 06520-8323

Students who have been offered admission contingent upon the Graduate School receiving official GRE/TOEFL scores must have ETS release their scores as soon as possible. Paper copies of score reports are not acceptable.

Please have scores released from ETS using the code 3987 for the Yale University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

If you anticipate delays or have any questions, please contact Jaime Dietz prior to July 15.

Please note that the Graduate School selects a random sample of applications from each matriculating class for full application verification. All transcripts, recommendations, publications, test scores, and supporting materials will be traced to their source in order to confirm authenticity.
