Yale Services & Privileges
for Non-Married Heterosexual Partners
The Graduate School offers the following benefits and services to
non-married heterosexual partners of graduate and professional students.
Shuttle Bus Guest Pass
Yale graduate/professional students will
be issued a shuttle bus guest pass for their partners by going to
the Parking and Transit Office at 155 Whitney Avenue and completing
the form available there. This pass will enable the user to ride
the shuttle bus and mini-bus free of charge.
Athletic Facilities
Yale graduate/professional
students may purchase a membership for their partners at Payne Whitney
Gymnasium and the Yale Golf Course at the same rates as employees
and affiliates. When purchasing a membership for his/her partner,
the student will need to show a Yale ID card and some form of documentation
indicating that the two reside at the same address. |
Library Borrowing
Privileges
A registered
graduate/professional student in good standing with the Library may
purchase borrowing privileges at the Yale University Library for
his/her partner at the rate of $50 per semester or $100 per year,
with the same level of privileges as is provided to affiliates. The
student and his/her partner must appear together at the Library Privileges
Office, complete and sign a form identifying the student and his/her
partner, and present documentation of shared residence. (e.g., apartment
lease with both names, valid passports or driver’s licenses
, or recent bank statement, credit card bill, or utility bill). As
is required for all persons for whom Library privileges are extended
who are not current employees or students, the partner will also
be required to provide a credit card number and sign an authorization
that all financial obligations incurred to the Yale University Library
may be charged to the credit card.
Yale Bookstore
Students, faculty, and staff with
a valid Yale ID are currently provided a 10% discount on items purchased.
The Bookstore is willing to grant this same discount to those individuals
with a shuttle bus guest pass. The bus pass must be shown with a
second form of identification upon checkout in order to receive the
10% discount.
Yale Discount card
Through an initiative developed
by the Yale College Council, the University has established and distributed
a card to all students, faculty and staff that provides discounts
at selected area stores. This card will also be available to graduate/professional
student partners at campus locations, including the McDougal Center
at HGS. |
