Blue telephones are stationed throughout campus for use in an emergency by dialing 111. Students and their families may use the free daytime and nighttime transit and security shuttles and the uniformed escort services (203 432-WALK) in and around campus. Please do not walk alone at night.
Yale’s Police Department, Office of Security Awareness and the Department of Security provide information on various safety programs and security features available on Yale's campus, including security escorts and crime- and theft-prevention measures. The Office of the Secretary compiles annual Campus Safety reports concerning campus safety and accepts questions and provides community updates regarding this important topic. The University works closely with the New Haven Police Department on all security and policing matters.
The Office of Environmental Health and Safety implements and monitors all health and safety requirements governing the University, including required training for those who will be working in laboratories.
