Wellness & Health

2006-2007 Coordinating Fellows
Amy Rogers, 2nd year EPH MPH
Carole Iingrassia , 2nd year EPH MPH

As we all know, graduate life at Yale, while fun and intellectually stimulating, can also be stressful, leaving little time for personal health and wellness. The McDougal Health and Wellness Fellows work to promote general health and wellness throughout the graduate community through a series of fun and interesting events.

Each year, the Fellows work in collaboration with Yale University Health Services and a team of dedicated Graduate & Professional Student Health Advocates to bring exciting programs and events relevant to all Yale graduate and professional students. This year’s events will include past favorites such as “Sex and Chocolate,” “Stress Down” days, cold care clinic, coats giveaway, and blood drives. In addition, we offer yoga and pilates beginning series as well as a cooking course on how to prepare quick, healthy meals, followed by a nutritionists panel.

The Health Advocates also write and distribute the Health Loop, a newsletter addressing health concerns for the graduate student community, and submit health tips to department newsletters. Additionally, we distribute condoms, safer sex supplies, and literature on health topics at all graduate and professional schools. See the Student Health Education website for more information on health and wellness topics of interest such as Stress Management, Healthy Eating, Mental Health, Safer Sex and more.
