Graduate Student Life offers programs, services and resources to foster a sense of community among students and postdoctoral fellows in the Graduate School. Throughout the year, the directors, staff and student fellows organize programs within the McDougal Center, across campus and in New Haven. Along with a wide variety of social events, Graduate Student Life plans arts, music, sports, religious, spiritual and wellness events; family-oriented and international student activities; and public service opportunities. This office organizes orientation for new students and Commencement activities for the Graduate School and advises graduate student organizations. The assistant dean provides information, advice and advocacy for all students in the Graduate School regarding personal concerns and student life issues, including the delivery of University services and life in New Haven. Graduate and professional students and postdocs and their spouses and partners are generally welcome to participate in the programming of the Graduate Student Life office, with exceptions noted in the Student Life eNotes.
