Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences

Graduate Student Life

Graduate Student Life offers programs, services and resources to build community among graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The graduate student McDougal fellows plan and promote events at the McDougal Center at HGS, across campus and in New Haven. McDougal Graduate Student Life creates great events year-round:

  • Socials, like First Friday at Five (FFF) monthly, grad happy hours, and the Winter Ball
  • Grad Night arts, music, and culture events
  • Sports, religious and spiritual, and health and wellness events
  • Family-oriented and spouse-partner activities
  • International events
  • Public service opportunities

We run the Blue Dog Café in the McDougal Common Room for your coffee, tea and snack needs. We organize New Student Orientation and advise graduate student organizations. Contact us with questions or concerns about graduate student life at Yale or in New Haven.
