2007-2008 GRADUATE FELLOW OPPORTUNITIES AT THE MCDOUGAL CENTEr
Applications must be received by Tuesday April 10, 2007, 12 noon.

The staff and students of the McDougal Graduate Student Center of Yale Graduate School are seeking candidates to serve as fellows for the 2007-2008 academic year. We invite applications for fellows in the offices of Graduate Career Services, Diversity and Equal Opportunity, Graduate Student Life, and the Graduate Teaching Center. Participation as a McDougal Fellow is an outstanding way to meet new people, develop leadership and administrative skills, gain useful experience for your resume or CV, explore specific academic, professional and social interests, and contribute to the graduate experience. We welcome applications from continuing students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and in some cases from continuing students in a relevant Yale Professional School.

icon Office for Diversity & Equal Opportunity (ODEO)
A primary mission of the ODEO Fellows Program is to address the particular needs of graduate students of color. ODEO Fellows are doctoral students themselves who both develop programming and serve as peer advisors and advocates, helping graduate students of color access resources and programs that focus on their specific needs and assisting undergraduate students interested in applying to graduate school.  Up to ten fellows are chosen each year by a selection committee to plan, implement, and evaluate recruitment and retention programs within the Graduate School, particularly those who have traditionally been underrepresented in the various disciplines and fields within the Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences.

icon Graduate Teaching Center
The Graduate Teaching Center (GTC) seeks talented graduate students with Yale teaching experience to serve as GTC Fellows. GTC Fellows lead programs on effective teaching, develop teaching resources, and provide individual consultation for Teaching Fellows at Yale. GTC fellows work across disciplines as well as within their own department or discipline.  GTC Fellows devote between 5-7 hours per week in the preparation and delivery of teaching services. The position begins on August 1st. In mid-August, Fellows receive extensive training (required) to prepare them to serve as consultants and workshop leaders.  In addition, they attend bi-weekly staff meetings during which they contribute to the direction and offerings of the Center. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students who would like to gain special expertise in college teaching, and who would like to experience mentoring and advising graduate students.
