International Students at the
Yale Graduate School
International students add enormous diversity to the community
of scholars at Yale. In fall 2007, approximately 28 percent
of new PhD students are from countries outside of the United
States.
The
Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)
is responsible for the general welfare of international students
at Yale University. Ann Kuhlman, the Director of OISS, and
her staff are always available to address any concerns or questions
that international students have about living in this country
and being a student at Yale. OISS also serves as a resource
on immigration matters for the Yale community and Yale’s
liaison to those federal agencies concerned with matters related
to international students and scholars studying and working
here.

Their
staff can also assist you with problems concerning your social
and personal adjustment to life in the United States and other
personal matters and concerns. In addition, the Office for
Diversity and Equal Opportunity is available as an additional
resource to international students in the Graduate School.
ODEO sponsors academic and social programs that may be of interest
to students who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Students
may also make an appointment to meet with the ODEO Director
regarding questions about living in a diverse community in
the United States.
For further information about ODEO-sponsored events for international
students, please contact the Office at (203) 432-0763 or grad.diversity@yale.edu. |
