Special Admissions Requirements Previous training in music theory or music history is required. Samples of the applicant's previous work including extended papers, compositions, advanced exercises, and analyses must be submitted. The GRE General Test is required by the Graduate School. Applicants whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL.
