Dormitories - Hadley Hall

Built in 1958, Hadley Hall, 420 Temple Street, is within easy walking distance of the Graduate School, libraries, science buildings, School of Music and the School of Management. Hadley is on the shuttle bus route, providing convenient access to all points on campus. The backyard patio is nicely landscaped and has picnic tables and a grill for warm weather get-togethers.

Floor Plan

The ground floor/entry level area has a front desk with administrative staffing Monday thru Friday to assist with student needs as well as a hospitality coffee service during office hours.

Hadley residents are eligible to work as Desk Attendants to provide additional front desk hours weekday evenings and Saturday. The Desk Attendant positions are paid through the Housing Department, and hours are scheduled by the Dorm Coordinator. These positions are offered to Hadley residents only.

The large, ground floor common room contains a fireplace, piano, a small library, pool table, ping pong table, foosball, air hockey table, vending machines, and an adjoining TV lounge with cable and VCR. This spacious and bright, sunlit area is well suited for the dormitory's social functions, parties and reading/study groups. The ground floor also hosts a computer room available 24 hours a day, limited bicycle storage, and residents' mailboxes.

Each of the upper five resident floors is key accessed by two elevators and two stairways. Each floor has a laundry room, storage areas for small items, separate men's and women's bathrooms, kitchens for light food preparation only and an attached dining/lounge area. Since the kitchens have two large freezers only, residents must provide and maintain their own 5 cu. ft. or less refrigerator in their room. Storage of any kitchenware or food is prohibited in the kitchens. Residents are to clean up after themselves and abide by all kitchen rules as posted.

Of the 175 rooms, most are standard size with large rooms making up the balance. Windows have vertical blinds. All first floor rooms are carpeted as are some other floors but most are tiled.

Hadley Hall is a dorm that is comfortable for residents to study, interact, and socialize.

Room types are:
