Dormitories - Harkness Dormitory

Built in 1955, ES Harkness Hall consists of single occupancy rooms. Each floor has 21 or 22 rooms, including a two-room suite. All floors are co-ed except for one all male floor (6th Floor) and one all female floor (8th Floor). There also is a Quiet Floor (11th Floor) for students looking to live in an intentionally quiet environment. All rooms and suites contain a vanity with sink and mirror, an extra-long twin metal-frame spring bed with mattress, bureau, built in closet, desk, and desk chair. There is limited overhead lighting, so residents may want to bring additional lighting.

Rooms in Harkness Dormitory vary in size and available views.

Harkness

All Harkness dormitory residents are required to participate in a meal plan provided by Marigold’s, which is operated by Medical School Dining Services. Food service is not provided on weekends, but there are four small kitchenettes available in the building. Students intending to use the kitchenettes are expected to bring their own cookware and utensils. Students are encouraged to bring mini-refrigerators for their rooms as the kitchenettes only contain full size freezers. Cooking in  student rooms is strictly limited to microwave ovens only.
