About the Dental Expense Fund
The Graduate and Professional Student Senate Dental Expense Fund, has been established to provide some relief to students who have incurred dental related expenses because of the lack of a university dental insurance plan.
Amount of Funding
Maximum award amount is $500. Because funding is extremely limited, fund levels will depend heavily on level of demand. The GPSS dental fund is not intended to fully compensate students for dental expenses, but rather ease the burden created by the expenses.
Eligibility
All Graduate and Professional students are eligible to apply. All dental expenses incurred between February 1st, 2009 and October 2nd, 2009 may receive consideration.
Selection Process
- Applicants must complete the GPSS Dental Expense Fund Application and be prepared to provide proof of their expense should their application be approved (i.e., dentist’s bill).
- Applications are reviewed and awardees are selected by a selection committee composed of GPSS senators. There are several factors that are taken into account in making such determinations, which include, but are not limited to:
- The selection committee may decide to fund each application in full, reject the application, or partially fund the application.
- Applicants will be notified by the committee and given instruction to collect their funding
