Project 21: It has been said that after 21 days of solid repetition, we can create habits around what we desire. In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles for men, Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. instituted Project 21 in the fall of 2007. For 21 days straight, brothers in the fraternity promote a more phyiscally consistent and healthy lifestyle amongst each other by working out together, eating healthy, and executing healthy lifestyles choices. Join the brothers of the Kappa Kings chapter in taking care of your body, mind, and soul.
Gamma Delta Mentorship Program: Gamma Phi Delta desires to train young men from the ages of 8 to 18 with Christian principles. We desire to mentor young men and become Godly role models. If you would like to participate or know of persons or community organizations in the New Haven area that would benefit from this mentorship, please contact us by email: kappakings.gphid@gmail.com
Prostate Cancer Awareness: Gamma Phi Delta proudly supports and endorses the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). Did you know that 1 out of 6 men will be diagnosed with the prostate cancer and the death rate is even higher for African-American men than for any other racial or ethnic group. Because of this phenomenon, we have teamed up with the Prostate Cancer Foundation to increase awareness and help raise funds for research to fight this deadly disease. Look out for exciting programs that our chapter will put on to do our part.
Perry H. Kay Jr. Memorial Scholarship: The Perry H. Kay, Jr., Memorial Scholarship is an annual, one-time scholarship designed to help graduating High School seniors make the transition from college to high school easier. Brother Kay was a graduate of Prairie View A&M University where he joined Gamma Phi Delta in the Fall of 1999. He encouraged family members, young Christians and friends to have faith in the Lord. While pursuing other graduate and theological studies, he was stricken with cancer, which took his body but not his Christian spirit. This scholarship honors the memory of this humble servant for the Lord. To view the requirements, deadlines, application, and a more complete bio of Brother Kay, please visit the national website, www.gphid1988.org.
