Monday, February 4

  • 4:00 pm, Dwight Hall Library: Global is Local!
    Representatives from New Haven’s Integrated Refugee and Immigration Services, Haven Clinic and more will come to Yale to discuss how global health includes addressing issues right here in New Haven.

    Tuesday, February 5

  • 4:00 pm, Luce Hall Auditorium: Movie Screening: "The Blood of Yingzhou District"
    The East Asian Studies Council is sponsoring this Oscar Winning documentary, The Blood of Yingzhou District, depicting the effect of AIDS on children in central China.

    Wednesday, February 6

  • 7:00 pm, LC 317: Arachu Castro, Harvard School of Public Health/ Partners in Health
    HIV/AIDS, Stigma, and Scaling up Treatment for the Poor in Latin America. Sponsor: Council of Latin American Studies.

    Thursday, February 7

  • 4:00 pm, Silliman Master's House: Master’s Tea with Richard Skolnik
    Richard Skolnik, former Director of George Washington’s Institute of Global Health and Yale graduate. Dr. Skolnik will speak on the role of the university in global health education and the "unfinished business" of global health.
  • 6:00 pm, Luce Hall 202: Global Health Diplomacy: How Health Can Heal Our Ailing International Relations
    Thomas Novotny, Associate Director for Global Tobacco Research in the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education, Education Coordinator for UCSF Global Health Sciences, and Director of International Programs in the Office of Medical Education.
  • 6:00pm - 8pm, Beineke Library: Global Health Education Gala Reception
    Mingle with some of Yale’s top health experts and administrators, learn about the university’s role in global health education from Richard Skolnik, former director of George Washington University’s Global Health Institute, learn how fellow students got involved in global health, and get some great food! Faculty, administration, and only the first 75 students will get entrance to the event.
