Germ line replacement

This movie shows the transplantations of cell from the margin of a donor embryo to a set of several hosts. Note how the donor is rotated to suction cells from around the margin. About 50% of the cell in the embryo are typically suctioned. These cells are distributed in the host embryos by injecting the cells in the animal cap region inside theembryo. It is important that not to many cells are introduced in the host to avoid disrupting the shape of the embryo.

This procedure replenished the germ line of the host embryo with the germ cell of the donor embryo
