Support for research
There are several new programs and initiatives design to support faculty in a research setting. A new program to provide IT support for research laboratories has recently been initiated by ITS/AM&T. Click here for information on developing an effective support plan for your research environment.
For faculty in need of application development, file/Web hosting services, and/or graphic design work, the AM&T research.yale.edu collaborative provides consulting and production services for funded research projects.
Got Linux? Support for technical workstations
The increased popularity of Linux has changed the playing field and the campus computing environment. No longer limited to scientific workstations, Linux has become a viable alternative to both Windows and Mac platforms. AM&T Linux Systems Design & Support provides Tier 2 and 3 levels of support for a variety of operating systems that include desktops running Linux, technical workstations and servers.
Support for instructional technology
The Instructional Technology Group provides resources for developing Web-based presentations and help using multimedia classrooms. In addition, AM&T Media & Technology Services provides support for faculty in the use of equipment installed in "media-friendly" classrooms and in the conversion and production of digital media.
Foreign language applications and solutions
The Center for Language Study provides information and support for multilingual applications and course development for language instructors.
