Green Mountains of Vermont

Green Mountain trips will take FOOTies through the long range of rolling, forested hillsides and impressive peaks that make up Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest. The trips follow the Appalachian trail through some of the most beautiful forests in New England, and offer a variety of scenic views of the countryside, including a spectacular view from atop the fire tower on Mt. Stratton. Some trips offer opportunities for swimming at lakeside campsites.

The Green Mountain trips are medium to difficult, due to the rolling mountains and heights of close to 4000 ft. However, the trips are most certainly doable, even for FOOTies with little to no hiking experience. For more information on the Green Mountains, please visit the official site of the Green Mountain National Forest.
