Distributed Users Committee (DUCs)

The Distributed Users Committee (DUCs) is a committee of Yale administrators who represent the end user community and provide an institutional view of end-user issues to university leadership.  The committee addresses  matters concerning systems, applications, reporting and business process in Finance, HR, Procurement, Reporting, Facilities, Student Systems and some Provostial systems including faculty appointments.

The committee interacts with several groups on campus, including groups of process owners, decision makers, and end user constituency groups. To assure that University-wide needs are being raised and discussed with decision-makers, and to ensure that University end-users are aware of planned changes in systems and processes, the DUCs regularly meet with their constituencies, share information and collect feedback, which is discussed with senior leadership.   The DUCs assist in the process of prioritizing and selecting IT projects, by evaluating the value of proposed projects from an end-user perspective.
