Treasury Services

The Treasury Services department provides the following services at the Cashiers’ Offices:

  • Distribution of petty cash
  • Issuance of cash and traveler’s checks advances and reimbursements
  • Delivery site for RIF (on–line deposit) tracking slips and funds
  • Processing of returned checks
  • Coin and change available
  • Night deposit safe; Yale Police must provide escort and key for 2 Whitney.
  • Processing of credit card transactions for departments that do not have their own credit card machines

In addition, the following services are available at 2 Whitney Avenue only:

  • Pick up of accounts payable checks.
  • Drop off for accounts payable documents.

The Treasury Manager is responsible for maintaining operating bank relationships and is the resource for any banking questions and works with the Investments Office to monitor the daily cash position, with Accounts Payable to handle outgoing wire transfers, and with General Accounting to record revenue transactions to the general ledger. The Treasury Manager is the system administrator for the Receipts Identification Form (RIF) system, and is responsible for the establishment of petty cash funds and establishment of merchant numbers for the acceptance of credit cards on campus.
