Steve Murphy
Associate Vice President for Business Operations
Steve is the Associate Vice President for Business Operations, working for the Vice President of Finance & Administration and having served most recently as Director of Special Projects for F&A and as leader of the 100-Day Plan to improve research administration. He joined the University in 2001 as the director of finance and administration for the Office of Cooperative Research, which is responsible for patenting and licensing the University’s technology. Prior to working for Yale, he served in various finance and business development positions in the private sector, including finance director for Wilson Sporting Goods Europe based in Munich, director of business development for Häagen-Dazs Asia/Pacific based in Hong Kong, and as the senior financial executive at start-up and technology companies ranging from pre-Series A ventures to a NASDAQ small-cap corporation. Steve serves on the Board of Trustees of Saint Thomas Chapel at Yale, and he graduated from Yale with a B.A. in economics.
