Philip E. Long
Chief Information Officer
Philip E. Long, Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Technology Services at Yale University and a Yale College graduate, ‘70, has worked in information technology at Yale for over thirty-five years developing IT infrastructure, facilitating the use of technology in support of academic programs and helping to build Yale’s Information Technology Services. Phil has published articles on managing academic technology and building campus data networks and delivered numerous professional talks. He has been and remains active nationally in multiple professional groups, including eight years of leadership for Bitnet - an early higher education network; several years as an advisor to Educause's NSF-sponsored project “Advanced Networking for Minority Serving Institutions;” ten years of leadership for the Common Solutions Group; and ongoing participation with the Ivy+ CIO group.
