Thomas Kavanagh has published on eighteenth-century literature and culture, chance and the Enlightenment, literature and the visual arts, narrative and its social implications, and French cinema. Recently published a book tracing the cultural history of gambling in French culture from the Middle Ages to the present and is currently working on a study of "Epicurean Stoicism" in eighteenth-century French literature.
