Average concentrations of K, P, Mg, Ca in wood, bark, and branches of a Sassafras albidum. Wood concentrations are examined both for the center, middle, and outer sections of "cookies" and from the top, middle, and bottom of the tree
A cookie is a bole cross-section, roughly 2 cm thick.
The center hole is in the pith.
The middle hole is in the heartwood halfway between the pith and the bark.
The outer hole is in the sapwood just inside the bark.
