Below are tables that show the concentrations and amounts of K. P, Mg, and Ca in the wood, bark, and branches of two Sassafras trees. Tree 2 has a diameter at breast height of 23.4 cm and tree 3 has a diameter at breast height of 11.8 cm.

Here's a graph of the amounts of K, P, Mg, and Ca in a hypothetical 25 cm d.b.h. Sassafras. We calculated these amounts by using our colleagues' allometry equations to determine the dry weight of the branches, bark, and bole-wood in a tree with a d.b.h. of 25 cm and then multiplying these weights by the average concentrations we determined in our analysis.
