High climbing vine; can reach diameters of 3.5 cm; forms clones by suckering; attaches by spiraling around stem of host plant.

TWIGS: Thin; glabrous; pith is large and white.

BARK: Smooth; gray to brown.

HABITAT: Open disturbed forests, fence rows, and roadsides.
