Grey Dogwood
Cornus racemosa


Upright shrub growing to about 1 to 3 meters high.  Commonly grows in large, dense clones. Moderately shade-tolerant.

BUDS: Small, oblong, scales valvate.

TWIGS: Thin, light gray, glabrous; with prominent lenticels; pith of older twigs is brown.

BARK: Smooth light gray, with long vertical fissures.

HABITAT: Roadsides, open woods, river banks, edges of swamps and marshes.
