Neil Arner is Associate Director of the Faith and Globalization Initiative at Yale and a doctoral student in Yale’s Department of Religious Studies.

In the former capacity, Neil assists Professor Miroslav Volf and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair with the planning and execution of an annual Yale course on “Faith and Globalization.” In the latter capacity, Neil studies philosophy of religion and religious ethics.

His research seeks to accentuate commonalities between the Christian ethical traditions of natural law reasoning and divine command theory through reexamination of medieval theology and engagement with contemporary biological accounts of morality.

Neil has degrees in mathematics, biology, theology, and philosophy from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Yale Divinity School. He spent two years of mission service in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and he is a candidate for ordination to the ministry of teaching within the Presbyterian Church (USA).
