Katherine Zodrow Ph.D. Candidate, Environmental Engineering, Yale University
|
Katherine is a first year Ph.D. student in Professor Menachem Elimelech's lab. Her research interests include the interactions between microbial communities and nanomaterials - specifically, nanotoxicology and the development of nanocomposites that are resistant to microbial biofilm development. Katherine hails from the far off land of Texas, where she completed both a B.S.C.E. and a M.S. in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University. Her master's thesis advisors were Pedro Alvarez and Qilin Li, and her work at Rice included the development of nano-silver ultrafiltration membranes that both resist biofilm development and enhance virus removal. Katherine is a lover of the outdoors, and she enjoys hiking, biking, and climbing.
