INTERESTS: rhetoric and cultural theory, visual and material culture, representation and identity, feminist theory, pedagogy, multimedia and emerging technologies.

In my research and teaching, I use an interdisciplinary framework based on rhetoric, cultural theory, and feminist theory to explore how ideas are produced, disseminated, and interpreted. I am fascinated by what makes ideas persuasive, by how words and images come together to influence our attitudes, values, and beliefs. This approach demands going beyond analyzing the idea or message itself to uncover the conditions and contexts that structure what and how we read and see.
