The principal aims of the Center are:

To provide a focal point for the activities of the Emeritus Faculty and further to integrate them into the life of the University.

To encourage and facilitate their involvement with the students and active faculty.

To develop variety if formats for teaching by Emeriti, including participation in established courses as guest lecturer or discussant, and the offering of seminars reflecting individual interests and expertise.

To assist with the arrangement of teaching assignments for those interested in teaching. Compensation for teaching will be at the customary rates set by the Provost and prorated based on the percentage of a course taught.

To support Emeriti in the continuation of research and scholarly writing, and to provide small grants to promote such activities.

To provide technical and instructional assistance with computer problems. There will be a part time computer assistant at the Center.

To provide assistance in interactions with the administrative departments of the University.
