General layout for forest sample plots on watershed-6. In 1965 the 10 x 10 m plot was used for live trees > 2 cm dbh. In 1965 the smaller 2.5 x 2.5 and 1 x 1 plots were used for counting saplings and seedlings. In 1977 and all following samplings the diameter (dbh) all the trees > 10 cm (live and dead) on all the 208 25 x 25 grid units were measured. In 1982 and 1987 the 2 - 10 cm diameter trees (live and dead) were measured on 32 and 34 of the 25 x 25 m plots. In 1992 the 2-10 cm diameter stems were measured on a 3 meter wide strip in all the 208 25 x 25 m grid units.
