Band dendrometers were put on a set of trees in two catchements, Bisley and El Verde, in May of 1995. Eight months later, Jan 1996, we made the first reading of the growth rates. There were 157 trees banded. Of these 47, about 30%, grew less than 0.2 cm in circumference. In a practical sense, with the types of band arrangement we set up, growth of less than 0.2 cm in circumference is probably the limit of detection.
