This year's Convocation and Reunions was the best-attended in recent memory. Participants worshipped together, dined together, and heard a number of stimulating lectures. But many also came away with some homework to do.

Yale Divinity School announced more than $3 million in capital campaign gifts during the week of Convocation and Reunions 2007, including two gifts of $1 million, and two of $500,000. All are earmarked for financial aid to students, YDS's top campaign priority.>Go to story



Four Yale Divinity School scholars, including the dean and the president-elect of the American Academy of Religion, have released a statement warmly embracing the open letter "A Common Word between Us and You," released worldwide Oct.11 and signed by 138 Muslim scholars, clerics, and intellectuals. >Go to story



More thank two dozen leading thinkers and practitioners in the area of faith and politics gathered at Yale Divinity School on Oct. 12 at a symposium entitled “Voices & Votes II: Shaping a New Moral Agenda.” They came from across the country, from a variety of faith backgrounds and tackled subjects like abortion, homosexuality, separation of church and state, immigration, theological foundations for political engagement, and proselytizing >Go to story


A memorial service for Letty Mandeville Russell, one of the world's foremost feminist theologians and longtime member of the Yale Divinity School faculty, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Marquand Chapel, Yale Divinity School, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a reception in the Common Room. Russell died July 12 at her home in Guilford, CT.

Berkeley Divinity School at Yale bestowed three honorary degrees at Convocation and Reunions 2007, to Amy Lee Domini, founder and CEO of Domini Social Investments; Martha J. Horne, retired president and dean of Virginia Theological Seminary; and Jane Williams, author and lecturer. >Go to story
