Annand Program for Spiritual Formation Expanded
The Annand Program for Spiritual Formation, named for former Dean James Annand, has expanded its offerings to students at Yale Divinity School thanks to an anonymous supporting grant.
Among the new initiatives are a broadened relationship with the Society of St. John the Evangelist in Cambridge , MA . The program will be offering quiet days led by brothers of the Society for each of the three M.Div. classes, as well as sponsoring students for individual and small group retreats at the monastery. A new relationship has also developed with the Community of the Holy Spirit in New York City , with one of the sisters joining the cadre of Annand Program spiritual directors.
The program, which is sponsored by Berkeley Divinity School but serves all of Yale Divinity School, has also inaugurated small study groups on spiritual practices for first-year students, while continuing to offer individual spiritual direction for second- and third-year students.
The Rev. Jane Stickney, rector of St. John's Church in North Guilford, CT serves as program coordinator, and Megan Hollaway '07M.Div. serves as a student intern facilitating the program's small group activities.
