Yale Divinity School launches new web site
Visitors to the new Yale Divinity School web site will encounter a livelier, more attractive and easier-to-navigate YDS internet presence. Content on the home page is much more people- and news-oriented, yet maintains all of the critical information of its predecessor.
YDS Web Coordinator Campbell (Brock) Harmon '04 M.A.R., who designed the new site, said,"The Yale Divinity School website has a new color scheme, easy-to-use menus, and new navigation tools. However, as in life, the biggest changes are on the inside. The website has been completely reordered from the back-end and is controlled through a new system that makes site-wide style changes quick and easy."
"I hope that the newly designed website will serve to showcase the great work of our institution and be a useful tool for everyone from alumni to students to first-time visitors."
Featured in the center of the new home page are a rotating menu of student-faculty profiles and photos, listings of upcoming events, YDS news, and Notes from the Quad —YDS's monthly online newsletter. The verticle menu on the left of the home page brings viewers to YDS topics via subject area, and the horizontal menu on top conveys content via constituent group. Links to the YDS partners, the Institute for Sacred Music and Berkeley Divinity School, are on the right side of the home page, just above links to the School's centers for research and outreach.
While anyone with access to the YDS web site can read Notes from the Quad, only persons with e-mail addresses known to YDS receive e-mail notifications when a new Notes is posted. Persons interested in receiving such notifications should send their requests to email@example.com.
