Sachs Named Visiting Professor of Anglican Studies
The Rev. Dr. William Sachs has been named a visiting assistant professor of Anglican studies for the 2006 fall semester. Sachs, who holds a Ph.D. in church history from the University of Chicago and was most recently head of research for the Episcopal Church Foundation, will teach the foundational course in Episcopal history and theology, as well as serve as a mentor and advisor to Episcopal students. Joseph Britton, dean of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, noted, "This appointment is a step toward realizing our intention to have senior pastors, priests and scholars of the Episcopal Church regularly in residence at Berkeley Divinity School in order to deepen our students' experience of the Anglican tradition, and to nurture their own vocational development."
