Office of Career Services For Current StudentsStudent Studying

In 2003, Yale Divinity School became one of only a handful of theological schools offering professional career services to its students and alumni/ae. Divinity Career Services office is physically located in room S-116. Services offered by the office include:

  • Unlimited individual career and vocational counseling for students.
  • Career tests, such as the Strong Interest Inventory and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
  • Workshops on resume writing, CV writing, job search strategies, credential files, etiquette, and interviewing skills
  • Participation in an email list of vacancies advertised to the divinity school.
  • Individual critiques of resumes and other placement materials after participation in a general workshop.
  • A small lending library of career resources, including books on various career fields, resume and cover letter writing, and graduate school testing.
  • Access to an online credential file service (dossier service).
  • Access to a web log linking students to relevant and timely career search information.
  • Access to the university-wide Yale Career Network. Students can contact alumni/ae for information about specific careers and employers and to set up mentoring relationships.
  • Creation of sermon CDs for use in the call process for future pastors.
